Doodle Marker: A Playful Display Font for Creative Branding Projects
Testing Doodle Marker Across Brand Touchpoints
- Logo Design: It worked beautifully as a primary logo typeface. Paired with a simple icon of a rolling pin and flour swirls, the logo felt warm and personal. I tested a version with all caps and another in title case—both looked great, though the lowercase felt more casual and inviting.
- Packaging: On a mockup of a cookie box, Doodle Marker gave the brand a homemade feel. It worked especially well on kraft paper and pastel-colored backgrounds, where the organic texture of the font contrasted nicely with the clean layout.
- Social Media: For Instagram stories and Pinterest pins, Doodle Marker added a lively touch. It was perfect for short headlines and calls to action like “New Flavor Alert!” or “Order Online.”
- Business Cards: At smaller sizes, some of the texture got lost, but it still held up well for a short brand name. I made sure to keep the rest of the card clean and minimal to let the font stand out.
- Web Headers: On the homepage hero section, Doodle Marker created a strong visual hook. I used it sparingly—only for the main headline—and paired it with a clean sans serif for the supporting text to maintain readability.
When Doodle Marker Works Best (And When It Doesn’t)

- Sticker designs and greeting cards
- Merchandise like tote bags and mugs
